Preparing for a Very Vegan Christmas!

Hands up who's excited that its almost christmas time?!.......(you cant see me - obviously - but if you could you would see both of my hands are up, high!!)

I'm not a fan of christmas related spending, stress, carols, cards, decorations etc, for me it is all about spending time with my adorable family and EATING (yes, my favorite past-time)!!!

This christmas will be my first Vegan christmas, and ive decided that rather than just lump that responsibility soley onto my darling mother (althought she has been filling me in on the new recipes she's been testing on my dad in preparation!), I will start to plan out some dishes that I can make on the day, which vegos, vegans and carnivores in my family will all think delectable!

So..... here's what im planning thus far (click on the name of the dish and you'll be swiftly transported to the recipe):

Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Fast Pesto Tart (make sure you check out all of Adele's other delicious recipes on Vegie Head, she's an amazing cook, and a very special lady!!)

Scalloped Potatoes and Eggplant Bacon

Banana, Coconut, Cashew Cream Tart

Mexican Chocamole (Cinnamon Chilli Choc Raw Pudding)!

Yay, a little project that i'm going to try out on the weekend.... (thanks to Martha Stewart...shhhhhh). Care to join me?

1. Go out for a delicious brunch, and on your way home stop by some $2 shops (intouch imports on Smith St is a personal favorite of mine!) and secure yourself a lovely big bunch of round doily's. If you'd prefer to do all of your shopping in the comfort of your warm home, these gorgeous hand dyed pretties are available from PrettieParties here.


2. Fold the doilys in half, then in half again. Then scrunch a little in the centre to make them look like little ruffled flowers.

3. Thread flowers through yarn, and into a wreath or onto wire.

Hello Crafty Weekends. I've Missed You!

I did it! I actually kept my promise to myself of not doing a single thing over the weekend, except read, drink chai, and make things all in the comfort of my little lop sided house.... and I did it! Yay...My Sister's Getting Married!

and i'm soooooo excited! I'm not a massive 'oh my god wedding' type of girl, I didnt want a whole lotta fuss over mine a couple of years ago, and was happy to just let the day play itself out however it was destined to be....which turned out to be utterly lovely! But.....in the last 2 years since, I have come across a bounty of bits and pieces that I wish I had known/could have afforded at my own day of wed, and now I get to pull all of these out to help my big sis plan and stew over her own! I'll apologise in advance for any 'runs' of wedding related material that I may be posting within the next 12 mths, the excitment has made me a little crazy :)

Anyone want to buy me an early birthday present???....well, c'mon!

Farwell More Lovelies....

Yes....its happened again....i've been spending up on a new winter wardrobe....and sticking to my 2011 creed of 'one in, one out' i've listed some more 'out' items on ebay...

My rule is that if I havent worn something for more than a year its put on "display" in my bedroom (which pretty much just means its placed on a hanger and positioned at the front of everything else so I wake up looking at it)....if after being on display for 1 week I still havent worn it, then its automatically placed on the 'out' list and popped onto ebay....yes this may end in tears in a couple of weeks, but for now i'm feeling ok about it :).....I think!!?!
